After 10 long (yet wonderful) weeks of reporting, editing, and designing, the 2018 issue of OR Magazine was published.
The 2018 edition focuses on the problems that affect our local communities, while simultaneously highlighting the efforts of those who are trying to solve these problems. News often leaves us feeling frustrated, helpless, and lost, but solutions-oriented journalism aims to encourage consumers to take action by shedding light on those who have already started to make waves. There are so many ways to initiate change, both on a local and global level, and we encourage readers to consider how they, too, can get involved in their communities.
2018 was also the first year that OR Mag offered stories in both Spanish and English. We felt this was an obvious choice given the subject matter, but we also wanted to make this edition as accessible to our readers as possible.
The 2018 edition of OR Magazine won Gold in “Best Digital General Magazine” at the 2019 Columbia Scholastic Press Awards.
OR Magazine is a mobile e-publication that can also be read on computers or tablets. As long as you view the issue in e-pub format, interactive elements will be available.
